Because it’s not enough for something to be either just “green” or just “eco,” the two must be combined to form a powerful new force (and marketing tool) in carbon footprint reduction.
Tom: I was looking for a sustainable swizzle stick for my morning coffee so I don’t have to keep throwing them away, and I settled on a solid plastic one that I can wash and re-use. That’s kind of “green,” right?
Tim: I suppose so, but it’s not very “eco” since plastic doesn’t really come directly from the earth. Why don’t you try a wooden stir stick or maybe a porcupine quill. That would be totally greeco.
