Telly Awards Rewards MCC for Video Production Skills
DALLAS – June 23, 2014
Dallas‐based, integrated marketing communications agency MCC put its video suite to the test in 2013. The result was winning two Telly Awards for agency videos – a Bronze Telly for “The Gift Exchange” and a Silver Telly for “The Head and The Heart.”
The Telly Awards honor the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films, and outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs. All awards are judged on a 10‐point performance scale based on creativity. Winning entries are awarded Silver or Bronze awards based upon the scores.
“Both of these projects are picture‐perfect examples of what’s possible when you stop thinking about advertising in the same‐old, same‐old ways and start telling interesting stories about your brand. Stories that people want to watch and hear,” said Todd Brashear, vice president of creative at MCC.
MCC created "The Gift Exchange" as its 2013 holiday video to connect and celebrate with clients and friends of the agency in a fun, innovative way. The video was the first stop‐motion film utilizing a live human, which proved to be a difficult technique to master. Everything except for text, was filmed and animated by hand.
MCC’s "The Head and The Heart" video captured the love story between organs to represent how MCC uses both analytical and passionate elements to connect clients to key publics through storytelling. These six‐inch characters visited four cities, including famous sites and landmarks in Dallas such as Klyde Warren Park and “The Traveling Man” sculpture in Deep Ellum. The final product represents the beauty of balance in marketing communications.
“As video is becoming increasingly more important in the marketing field, MCC is staying ahead of the curve,” said Mike Crawford, president of MCC. “We strive to provide innovative videos that capture viewers’ heads and hearts that will be successful for our agency and clients alike.”
“The Head and The Heart” video marks the third Silver Telly won by MCC in the past three years. In 2012, MCC won for another holiday video, "Snow‐motion," and again in 2013 for Trilogy Circuit’s "Anything You Can Imagine." “The Gift Exchange” joins MCC’s Bronze Telly awards: “Nutcracker Suite 275,” “Swine Flew,” “Home on the Range” and “Harry Sasquatch Prank Calls.”
MCC recently released its latest video series labeled “MCC Briefs” with "Hums the Word" as the debutant. The series allows the agency to connect with clients, friends of the agency and prospective clients as well as entertain them in a new way by showcasing the personalities of the employees at MCC.
