Five Favorite M/C/C Moments From 2015

As I look back on the year 2015, five favorite M/C/C moments come to mind. Here they are.

DFW AMA Marketer of the Year Award
We were awarded the 2015 DFW AMA Marketer of the Year honor in the “New Product/Service Launch” category. Our client, ReTrak by Emerge Technologies, created headphones for children branded Animalz. Designed for little ears, the headphones feature volume-limiting technology, fun animal designs and a retractable cord that makes clean up a breeze and tantrums about tangled wires nearly obsolete.

The pressure was on for a new product without brand recognition in a crowded marketplace at the busiest time of the year. Not only did Animalz have little brand recognition, neither did its parent company, so major retailers were concerned about selling the headphones to consumers. In the fall of 2014, the company approached M/C/C about launching its new lovable, retractable headphones. M/C/C’s public relations and creative teams developed a comprehensive integrated blogger outreach and media relations program that would best target the main buyer of the headphones—moms.

M/C/C garnered coverage for Animalz that reached more than 210 million readers/visitors. We secured 79 blog posts, which generated 600,000+ impressions and engaged consumers through almost 7,000 trackable social actions. Media outlets such as The Boston Globe, Newsday and its sister TV station, News 12 Long Island, picked up the Animalz story. M/C/C’s outreach even influenced CNET to include the headphones in a stocking stuffers video segment. Additionally, nearly 30 percent of the blogs and a variety of top tier media sites including CBS News, The Huffington Post and Yahoo featured the product video created by M/C/C.

Overall, Animalz sales increased 1,755 percent with more than half of the sales coming through the three-month blogger and media relations campaign period.

CyrusOne Chooses M/C/C
Also in 2015, CyrusOne selected M/C/C for planning and management of the global data center company’s integrated media strategies and implementation. Scott Brueggeman, CMO of CyrusOne, commented that M/C/C was an easy decision because of our track record as well as our experience. He went on to say that M/C/C’s focus on measurable and actionable results gives his organization complete confidence in our ability to help CyrusOne deliver the next successful chapter in the company’s marketing and advertising efforts.

FB - San Antonio I Data Center

The results have been strong and have continued to grow since our relationship began in July, indicating 2016 should truly be exciting.

Harris CapRock Makes a Splash
Another favorite moment was when longtime-client Harris CapRock launched a game-changing communications service and wanted a high-impact introduction. The new offering, Harris CapRock One, is a complex system of technologies that simplifies communications for customers traversing the globe. M/C/C proposed a Web-based interactive demonstration and built an HTML 5 animated website that walks viewers through the service in a simple, step-by-step fashion. In addition, M/C/C developed and executed an integrated communications program that built awareness quickly, gained third-party credibility and generated customer interest.

This launch program delivered impressive results. The public relations program has driven 84 pieces of media coverage in relevant media outlets, including 21 feature stories. Meanwhile the creative campaign has driven thousands of our client’s best prospects to the Harris CapRock One website to learn more about this revolutionary service.

The launch of Harris CapRock One pulled no punches, reaching not just potential customers but also every other audience that influences the service’s image in the market. We look forward to more results like these as we continue to tell the Harris CapRock story about this breakthrough innovation.

A New Story for PDA, Inc.
My fourth favorite moment was with our client PDA, Inc. In the fourth quarter of 2014 we began the process of completely repositioning the company and its brand. Next we developed and executed a comprehensive integrated marketing communications plan that included public relations, social media and website development along with advertising and promotional programs.

The outcome has been amazing. M/C/C generated over 1,000 pieces of coverage – up from zero the previous year. The public relations results included 26 feature and eight contributed articles. The new website increased traffic by over 25 percent with the pages per visit increasing by 28 percent. The advertising program delivered over 850,000 impressions with a click through rate 100-percent higher than the industry average! This resulted in 1,700 desired actions on the PDA website. Additionally, social media activities grew LinkedIn followers by 525 percent!

More importantly, I received a call from the CEO of PDA in which he shared that it was a banner year for the company’s sales and revenues. He expressed that M/C/C’s recommendations and activities were a major contributor to that success.

It was music to my ears!

Twenty-nine Years of Client Service
Finally, my last favorite moment was celebrating our 29th year in business. It is pretty amazing! I really want to thank all of our clients and the people we worked with during the last 29 years. There have been so many terrific people, and many we are still working with today. I have developed great friendships with many of them. It has truly been a pleasure to be a partner with you and your company.

And to the employees of M/C/C, WAY TO GO! Your commitment and dedication to our clients through your great work is reflected in the results we have delivered for them. I am just happy to be a part of this great agency.

Happy New Year from MCC and Mike CrawfordI can’t wait for 2016!

Back in 1986, Mike helped create an entirely new kind of advertising agency and public relations firm, one that focused exclusively on technology clients. At the time, this level of specialization was unheard of, but MCC proved the doubters wrong, growing into the Southwest's number-one ad/PR agency for technology companies - and one of the top high-tech advertising agencies in the country. In 2006, Mike diversified the agency's client base to include non-technology clients as well, expanding into industries such as energy, insurance, government, finance, retail, health, security and entertainment. Today, MCC continues to evolve under Mike's direction, blazing new trails from traditional marketing communications to real-time, digital engagement with our clients' customers. Before founding MCC, Mike directed the marketing communications for Nortel, where he launched the still-popular Meridian line of business telecommunications systems. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Mike has served on a variety of boards and remains active in local and state trade associations. Follow on: Google+ || LinkedIn
