MCC’s Greatest Moments of 2018

What an exciting and humbling year for MCC! There were a whole bunch of terrific moments in 2018, and I am going to share the top five.

The American Marketing Association named MCC Marketer of the Year in the energy category, recognizing our work for Kinetrex Energy. For Kinetrex, we developed market research to glean intelligence from potential customers in a number of vertical markets, developed a new brand strategy and created a new, integrated marketing campaign. The marketing communications plan included digital advertising targeted to multiple audiences. The ad campaigns averaged a click-through rate of 0.17 percent, nearly twice the B-to-B average of 0.09 percent. The number of active prospects shot up 700 percent, and the increased awareness from these ad campaigns helped usher in a windfall at Kinetrex. Since partnering with MCC, Kinetrex has grown its revenue by 60 percent and increased its employee count by 75 percent!

We were deeply honored to receive Texas Instruments’ highly coveted “Supplier Excellence Award” for a third time! Our relationship with the people at TI and their various product units is now worldwide. We truly appreciate the opportunity to work with everyone at TI and continue to contribute to the company’s success.

We also added a number of new clients in 2018. They are:

ALS Association, Texas Chapter: The nonprofit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s disease builds hope and enhances patients’ quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

BG Products: A leading provider of automotive maintenance and replacement parts that improve long-term performance and reliability for vehicles.

ITC Global: A leading provider of satellite communications to the energy, mining, maritime, hospitality and NGO markets across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. ITC Global is a subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation.

Lonestar Analysis: A predictive and prescriptive analytics provider that helps customers make smarter decisions faster by leveraging data and insights.

PetroCloud: A technology leader of cloud-based solutions that provide intelligence and control in remote locations.

Another highlight this year was the work we produced for our client, Stream Data Centers. We developed and executed an extensive digital media ad program through programmatic audience delivery and select industry sites. The program totaled nearly 19 million impressions with a click-through rate of 0.41 percent (355 percent higher than the industry average) and generated 12,620 desired actions on the Stream site. We increased Stream’s visibility across the web, improved the quality of the company’s web traffic by driving high-value prospects to the site to learn more, bolstered the company’s LinkedIn page through sponsored posts and improved the company’s Google search ranking through paid search. This led to 1,750 communication contacts.

And finally, an achievement that I find almost inconceivable – I was inducted into the American Advertising Federation Southwest Hall of Fame. I could never have imagined that a conversation 32 years ago about what I would value as a client would lead to the opportunity to work with so many incredible companies and so many amazing and talented professionals who have been members of the MCC team. I am humbled, incredibly honored and would like to thank the American Advertising Federation for the recognition, all of the clients that have allowed us to serve them and everyone who has been a part of the MCC team, current, past and future, for their inspired work.

Without a doubt, 2018 was a big year for MCC, but 2019 is already showing it has the potential for even more magical moments. Hang on tight. The amazing ride continues.

Before founding MCC, Mike directed the marketing communications for Nortel, where he launched the still-popular Meridian line of business telecommunications systems.
